Levocetirizine, a selective second-generation antihistamine, provides symptomatic relief from allergic manifestations such as rhinorrhea, sneezing, and nasal congestion by inhibiting peripheral H1 histamine receptors without causing significant sedation. Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, mitigates bronchoconstriction, inflammation, and edema by blocking leukotriene D4 receptors in the airways, making it beneficial in the prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma and allergic rhinitis.
The sustained-release formulation ensures a prolonged therapeutic effect, enhancing patient compliance through once-daily dosing.
