Lenziron Chewable Tablet contains 100 mg of elemental iron, formulated to prevent and treat iron deficiency anemia. Iron is an essential mineral required for the synthesis of hemoglobin, myoglobin, and various enzymes involved in oxygen transport and cellular respiration. Lenziron is indicated for patients with inadequate dietary iron intake, increased iron requirements such as pregnancy, lactation, or growth periods, and conditions associated with chronic blood loss or malabsorption.

The chewable formulation enhances patient compliance, particularly in pediatric and geriatric populations, by providing a palatable and easily administered dosage form. Upon oral administration, iron is absorbed primarily in the duodenum and proximal jejunum, replenishing iron stores and facilitating the production of functional hemoglobin. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, constipation, nausea, and dark stools; these are generally mild and transient.
Lenziron should be used cautiously in patients with hemochromatosis or other iron overload disorders. It is recommended to administer the tablet on an empty stomach or with vitamin C to enhance absorption, avoiding concurrent intake with calcium, antacids, or certain antibiotics that may impair iron uptake.
