Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, inhibits the cysteinyl leukotriene D4 receptor, reducing bronchoconstriction, inflammation, and edema in the airways, making it effective in the prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma and allergic rhinitis. The synergistic action of these two agents provides comprehensive relief by targeting multiple pathways involved in allergic responses.
LCZ-Mont Suspension is indicated for pediatric and adult patients requiring combined antihistaminic and leukotriene receptor antagonist therapy, particularly in cases where monotherapy is insufficient.
