Timolol is a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker that decreases aqueous humor production, thereby lowering IOP. Latanoprost is a prostaglandin F2α analog that increases the outflow of aqueous humor through the uveoscleral pathway, contributing to further IOP reduction.

The synergistic effect of these two active ingredients provides enhanced efficacy compared to monotherapy with either agent alone. Latocom Eye Drops are administered once daily, preferably in the evening, to optimize therapeutic outcomes and minimize systemic absorption. Caution is advised in patients with respiratory conditions such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bradycardia, heart block, or heart failure due to the beta-blocker component.
Common adverse effects may include ocular irritation, hyperemia, eyelash growth, and changes in iris pigmentation. Patients should be monitored regularly for intraocular pressure response and potential side effects.
