Lapezil 5 Tablet contains Donepezil 5mg, a centrally acting reversible acetylcholinesterase inhibitor indicated for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate dementia of the Alzheimer’s type. By inhibiting the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, Donepezil increases the concentration of acetylcholine in the brain, thereby enhancing cholinergic neurotransmission which is typically deficient in Alzheimer’s disease. Lapezil 5 is prescribed to improve cognitive function, memory, attention, reasoning, and the ability to perform daily activities in affected patients. The tablet is administered orally, usually once daily, with or without food, and dosage adjustments should be made based on clinical response and tolerability. Common adverse effects may include nausea, diarrhea, insomnia, muscle cramps, and fatigue, which are generally mild and transient. Caution is advised in patients with cardiac conduction abnormalities, gastrointestinal bleeding, or a history of seizures. Lapezil 5 should be used under medical supervision, with regular monitoring to assess therapeutic efficacy and adverse reactions. It is not a cure for Alzheimer’s disease but may help to temporarily alleviate symptoms and improve quality of life.
