This mechanism facilitates softening of stools and promotes regular bowel movements, making it effective in managing chronic constipation, opioid-induced constipation, and preparation for bowel procedures. Lactiol Syrup is generally well tolerated, with minimal systemic absorption and a low risk of systemic side effects. Common adverse effects may include mild abdominal discomfort, bloating, flatulence, or diarrhea, typically resolving with dose adjustment.
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to lactitol or other components, intestinal obstruction, or acute inflammatory bowel diseases.
