It is indicated for the symptomatic relief of dry, irritated, or fatigued eyes caused by environmental factors, prolonged screen exposure, contact lens wear, or minor ocular surface disorders. Carboxymethylcellulose acts by forming a protective, hydrophilic layer on the corneal and conjunctival epithelium, enhancing tear film stability and reducing evaporation. This mechanism helps to alleviate symptoms such as burning, stinging, foreign body sensation, and redness associated with dry eye syndrome. Lacrilis Eye Drop is preservative-free, minimizing the risk of ocular surface toxicity and irritation, making it suitable for frequent use and for patients with sensitive eyes. The sterile isotonic formulation ensures compatibility with the natural tear film and maintains ocular surface integrity. Administration involves instilling one or two drops into the affected eye(s) as needed, with caution advised to avoid contamination of the dropper tip.
