Lacosam Injection contains lacosamide 10 mg, an antiepileptic agent indicated for the treatment of partial-onset seizures in patients with epilepsy. Lacosamide acts by selectively enhancing slow inactivation of voltage-gated sodium channels, stabilizing hyperexcitable neuronal membranes and inhibiting repetitive neuronal firing without affecting normal neuronal excitability. This mechanism contributes to its efficacy in reducing seizure frequency. Lacosam Injection is administered intravenously, providing an alternative route for patients unable to take oral formulations or requiring rapid therapeutic levels. It is typically used as adjunctive therapy in adults and pediatric patients aged 4 years and above.
