Lacne Gel is a topical dermatological formulation containing Adapalene 0.1% w/w and Clindamycin 1% w/w, indicated for the treatment of acne vulgaris. Adapalene, a third-generation synthetic retinoid, modulates cellular differentiation and keratinization, thereby preventing the formation of microcomedones and promoting the resolution of existing comedones and inflammatory lesions. Clindamycin, a lincosamide antibiotic, exerts bacteriostatic effects against Propionibacterium acnes by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, reducing inflammation and bacterial colonization within pilosebaceous units. The combination of these active ingredients provides a dual mechanism of action targeting both the inflammatory and non-inflammatory components of acne. Lacne Gel is applied once daily to affected areas after cleansing, avoiding contact with eyes, lips, and mucous membranes. Common adverse effects may include mild to moderate local irritation such as erythema, dryness, peeling, and burning sensation, which typically diminish with continued use. Patients are advised to use sunscreen and avoid excessive sun exposure during treatment due to increased photosensitivity. Lacne Gel is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to adapalene, clindamycin, or any formulation excipients.
