Lacarnit Injection contains Levo-carnitine 1gm per 5ml and is indicated for the treatment of carnitine deficiency states. Levo-carnitine is a naturally occurring amino acid derivative essential for the transport of long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria for beta-oxidation and energy production. This injection is primarily used in conditions associated with primary or secondary carnitine deficiency, including inherited metabolic disorders, chronic renal failure, and certain cardiomyopathies. Lacarnit Injection facilitates improved energy metabolism and has a role in enhancing cardiac and skeletal muscle function. It may also be employed as adjunctive therapy in patients undergoing hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis to correct carnitine depletion.
