Chlorpheniramine Maleate, a first-generation antihistamine, alleviates allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes by blocking H1 histamine receptors. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide serves as a centrally acting antitussive agent, suppressing the cough reflex through its action on the medullary cough center without causing significant sedation. Kuflance-D Syrup is indicated for the management of upper respiratory tract infections, allergic rhinitis, and non-productive cough associated with colds and flu.
It is recommended to be used under medical supervision, especially in patients with hypertension, glaucoma, or thyroid disorders due to the vasoconstrictive properties of Phenylephrine. Common adverse effects may include dizziness, dry mouth, and mild sedation. Caution is advised when administered concomitantly with monoamine oxidase inhibitors or other sympathomimetic agents.
