Kortuf 6mg Tablet contains Deflazacort, a corticosteroid used for its potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. This medication is indicated for the treatment of various inflammatory and autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, allergic disorders, and certain dermatological diseases. Deflazacort acts by modulating the immune response and reducing inflammation through inhibition of multiple inflammatory cytokines and mediators.

Kortuf 6mg is also utilized in managing chronic respiratory diseases, certain hematologic disorders, and as adjunctive therapy in some malignancies. The dosage and duration of therapy should be individualized based on the patient’s condition, response, and tolerability, with gradual tapering recommended to prevent adrenal insufficiency. Common adverse effects include weight gain, hypertension, hyperglycemia, mood alterations, and increased susceptibility to infections.
Caution is advised in patients with diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, and peptic ulcer disease. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, blood glucose, and bone density is recommended during prolonged therapy. Kortuf 6mg should be used under strict medical supervision, avoiding abrupt discontinuation. It is contraindicated in systemic fungal infections and known hypersensitivity to Deflazacort or any excipients.
