Ursodeoxycholic Acid is a hydrophilic bile acid that exerts cytoprotective, choleretic, and immunomodulatory effects, making it effective in the management of primary biliary cholangitis, cholesterol gallstones, and certain cholestatic liver diseases.

Korbiliv 450 Tablet SR facilitates the dissolution of cholesterol-rich gallstones in patients who are not candidates for surgery and improves bile flow by reducing the cholesterol saturation index in bile. Additionally, it protects hepatocytes from bile acid-induced apoptosis and promotes the clearance of toxic bile acids, thereby improving liver function tests and clinical symptoms.
The sustained-release formulation ensures a gradual release of the active compound, maintaining therapeutic plasma concentrations over an extended period and enhancing patient compliance. Korbiliv 450 is generally well tolerated, with adverse effects being mild and infrequent, including gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea and abdominal discomfort. It is contraindicated in patients with complete biliary obstruction or hypersensitivity to Ursodeoxycholic Acid.
Clinical monitoring and liver function tests are recommended during therapy to assess efficacy and safety.
