Each 5 ml of syrup contains Ambroxol 15 mg, Guaifenesin 50 mg, Menthol 2.5 mg, and Terbutaline 1.25 mg. Ambroxol acts as a mucolytic agent, facilitating the breakdown and clearance of viscous mucus from the respiratory tract, thereby enhancing expectoration. Guaifenesin serves as an expectorant, promoting the thinning and loosening of mucus to ease productive cough. Menthol provides a soothing effect on the throat and nasal passages, contributing to symptomatic relief by producing a cooling sensation. Terbutaline, a selective beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist, functions as a bronchodilator, relaxing bronchial smooth muscle to improve airflow and reduce bronchospasm. Kofdrop Syrup is indicated for the management of acute and chronic bronchitis, asthma, and other obstructive airway diseases where mucus hypersecretion and bronchospasm are present.
