Guaifenesin serves as an expectorant, promoting the thinning and loosening of mucus to ease productive cough. Menthol provides a soothing effect on the throat and nasal passages, contributing to symptomatic relief by producing a cooling sensation. Terbutaline, a selective beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist, functions as a bronchodilator, relaxing bronchial smooth muscle to improve airflow and reduce bronchospasm.
Kofdrop Syrup is indicated for the management of acute and chronic bronchitis, asthma, and other obstructive airway diseases where mucus hypersecretion and bronchospasm are present. It is recommended to be used under medical supervision, with dosage adjusted according to patient age and clinical condition. Caution is advised in patients with cardiovascular disorders, hypertension, or hypersensitivity to any component.
Adverse effects may include tachycardia, tremors, and gastrointestinal disturbances.
