Klinique Shampoo contains Ketoconazole 1% w/v, an antifungal agent effective in the treatment of dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp. Ketoconazole is a broad-spectrum imidazole antifungal that inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, thereby disrupting cell membrane integrity and leading to fungal cell death. Klinique Shampoo is indicated for patients experiencing scalp conditions characterized by flaking, itching, and inflammation caused by Malassezia species.

The formulation is intended for topical use and should be applied to the affected scalp areas, left in place for several minutes to allow adequate antifungal activity, and then rinsed thoroughly. Regular use as directed by a healthcare professional can reduce fungal colonization, alleviate symptoms, and prevent recurrence. Klinique Shampoo is generally well tolerated; however, local adverse reactions such as irritation, dryness, or contact dermatitis may occur.
