Aspirin, an antiplatelet agent, inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes, thereby reducing thromboxane A2 production and preventing platelet aggregation. Clopidogrel, another antiplatelet agent, irreversibly inhibits the P2Y12 component of ADP receptors on platelet surfaces, further reducing platelet activation and aggregation.
