Kinpride SR Tablet contains Cinitapride 3mg, a prokinetic agent used primarily to enhance gastrointestinal motility. It acts by stimulating the serotonin 5-HT4 receptors and antagonizing dopamine D2 receptors, thereby promoting coordinated motility of the upper gastrointestinal tract. This mechanism facilitates gastric emptying and improves symptoms associated with delayed gastric emptying, such as nausea, vomiting, bloating, and early satiety.

Kinpride SR is indicated for the management of functional dyspepsia, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and other motility disorders of the stomach and intestines. The sustained-release formulation ensures a prolonged therapeutic effect, allowing for convenient once or twice daily dosing and improved patient compliance. Cinitapride is generally well tolerated; however, potential side effects may include headache, dizziness, diarrhea, and extrapyramidal symptoms in rare cases.
It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the drug, intestinal obstruction, or prolactin-dependent tumors. Caution is advised in patients with a history of cardiac arrhythmias or those taking other medications that may prolong the QT interval. Kinpride SR should be used under medical supervision, with dosage adjustments based on clinical response and tolerability.
