Kezpride Cream contains Ketoconazole 2% w/w, an antifungal agent effective against a broad spectrum of dermatophytes, yeasts, and molds. It is indicated for the topical treatment of superficial fungal infections such as tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis, and pityriasis versicolor. Ketoconazole exerts its antifungal activity by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, leading to increased membrane permeability and cell death. Kezpride Cream is applied once or twice daily to the affected area and surrounding skin after thorough cleansing and drying. The duration of treatment typically ranges from 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the infection type and clinical response. This formulation is well tolerated with minimal systemic absorption, reducing the risk of systemic side effects. Common adverse reactions may include local irritation, burning sensation, or erythema at the application site. Kezpride Cream should be used with caution in patients with known hypersensitivity to ketoconazole or any cream excipients. It is not recommended for use on mucous membranes, eyes, or open wounds. Patients should be advised to complete the full course of therapy to prevent recurrence and resistance.
