Key Febx Tablet contains Febuxostat 40mg, a xanthine oxidase inhibitor indicated for the management of hyperuricemia in patients with gout. Febuxostat acts by selectively inhibiting xanthine oxidase, an enzyme responsible for converting hypoxanthine to xanthine and xanthine to uric acid, thereby reducing serum uric acid levels. This reduction helps prevent gout flares, tophi formation, and joint damage associated with chronic gout.

Key Febx is prescribed for patients who have not responded adequately to conventional urate-lowering therapies or those who are intolerant to allopurinol. The tablet is administered orally, with dosage individualized based on serum uric acid levels and renal function. Common adverse effects may include liver function abnormalities, nausea, rash, and headache; therefore, periodic monitoring of liver enzymes and renal function is recommended during therapy.
Febuxostat should be used cautiously in patients with cardiovascular disease due to a potential increased risk of cardiovascular events. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the drug or during pregnancy and lactation.
