Ketozit 2% Cream contains Ketoconazole 2% w/w, an imidazole antifungal agent effective in the treatment of various superficial fungal infections. Ketoconazole exerts its antifungal action by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, thereby disrupting membrane integrity and leading to fungal cell death. Ketozit 2% Cream is indicated for the topical management of dermatophytosis, candidiasis, pityriasis versicolor, seborrheic dermatitis, and other fungal skin infections caused by susceptible organisms. The cream formulation allows for targeted application to affected areas, promoting localized antifungal activity with minimal systemic absorption. It is recommended to apply a thin layer of Ketozit 2% Cream to the affected skin once or twice daily, depending on the severity and physician’s instructions, for a duration typically ranging from 2 to 4 weeks. Patients should be advised to continue treatment for the full prescribed period even if symptoms improve earlier to prevent recurrence. Ketozit 2% Cream is generally well tolerated; however, mild local irritation, burning, or itching may occur. Use with caution in individuals with known hypersensitivity to ketoconazole or any component of the formulation. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
