Ketoven 2% Cream contains Ketoconazole 2% w/w, an imidazole antifungal agent effective against a broad spectrum of dermatophytes, yeasts, and fungi responsible for superficial mycotic infections. It is indicated for the topical treatment of conditions such as tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis, pityriasis versicolor, and seborrheic dermatitis. Ketoconazole exerts its antifungal action by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, leading to increased membrane permeability and cell death.

The cream formulation allows for targeted application to affected areas, promoting rapid symptom relief including reduction of itching, redness, and scaling. Ketoven 2% Cream should be applied once or twice daily to clean, dry skin, with the duration of treatment typically ranging from 2 to 4 weeks depending on the infection type and severity. It is generally well tolerated; however, mild local reactions such as burning, stinging, or irritation may occur.
Use is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ketoconazole or any cream excipients. Caution is advised to avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
