Ketoconazole exerts its antifungal action by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, leading to increased membrane permeability and ultimately fungal cell death. Ketovag Cream is suitable for application on affected skin areas, providing rapid symptomatic relief from itching, redness, and inflammation associated with fungal infections. The cream formulation ensures enhanced penetration and sustained antifungal activity. It is generally well tolerated, with minimal risk of systemic absorption and adverse effects. Patients are advised to apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected area once or twice daily, as directed by a healthcare professional, and to continue treatment for the full prescribed duration to prevent recurrence.
