Ketoscalp Cream contains Ketoconazole 2% w/w, an imidazole antifungal agent effective against a broad spectrum of dermatophytes, yeasts, and fungi. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of superficial fungal infections of the skin, including seborrheic dermatitis, pityriasis versicolor, and tinea infections such as tinea corporis and tinea cruris. Ketoconazole works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes, leading to increased membrane permeability and ultimately fungal cell death.

Ketoscalp Cream is applied topically to the affected areas once or twice daily, depending on the severity and type of infection, and should be used consistently for the prescribed duration to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes. The cream is generally well tolerated; however, mild local irritation, itching, or redness may occur in some patients. It is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to ketoconazole or any of the cream’s excipients.
Caution is advised when applying near the eyes or mucous membranes. Ketoscalp Cream should be used under medical supervision, especially in patients with extensive skin involvement or those using other topical medications.
