Ketorex Shampoo contains Ketoconazole 2% w/v and Zinc Pyrithione 1% w/v, formulated for the treatment of dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis. Ketoconazole is an imidazole antifungal agent that inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, thereby exerting fungistatic and fungicidal effects against Malassezia species, which are commonly implicated in dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis. Zinc Pyrithione possesses antibacterial and antifungal properties, reducing scalp flaking and inflammation by targeting the microbial flora responsible for these conditions. Ketorex Shampoo is indicated for patients experiencing scalp itching, scaling, and redness associated with dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis. The shampoo should be applied to wet hair and scalp, massaged gently to form a lather, left on for 3 to 5 minutes to allow adequate contact time, and then rinsed thoroughly. It is recommended for use 2 to 3 times weekly or as directed by a healthcare professional. Ketorex Shampoo is generally well tolerated; however, mild local irritation or dryness may occur. Patients should avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. In case of adverse reactions or if symptoms persist, medical advice should be sought. This product is for external use only.
