Ketoconazole, an imidazole antifungal agent, exerts its effect by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, thereby disrupting fungal growth and replication. Salicylic Acid, a keratolytic agent, facilitates the removal of scales and promotes exfoliation of the stratum corneum, enhancing the penetration and efficacy of the antifungal component. Ketopass Lotion is primarily used in the management of superficial mycoses such as tinea versicolor, seborrheic dermatitis, and pityriasis capitis, where fungal colonization is accompanied by scaling and inflammation. The combination therapy provides both antifungal and keratolytic actions, resulting in symptomatic relief and resolution of lesions. Application should be limited to the affected areas, typically once or twice daily, as directed by a healthcare professional.
