Omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system at the secretory surface of gastric parietal cells, leading to a significant reduction in gastric acidity. The combined action of these agents provides symptomatic relief in conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and functional dyspepsia.
Kebren Capsule is indicated for patients experiencing heartburn, acid regurgitation, and upper abdominal discomfort related to acid peptic disorders. It should be administered as per physician’s direction, typically before meals, to maximize therapeutic efficacy. Caution is advised in patients with known hypersensitivity to either component, and it is contraindicated in individuals with gastrointestinal hemorrhage, obstruction, or perforation.
Regular monitoring is recommended during prolonged therapy to assess treatment response and detect any adverse effects.
