Kapinose Nasal Drops contain Xylometazoline 0.05% w/v, a topical nasal decongestant indicated for the relief of nasal congestion associated with conditions such as allergic rhinitis, common cold, sinusitis, and hay fever. Xylometazoline acts as a selective alpha-adrenergic receptor agonist, inducing vasoconstriction of the nasal mucosal blood vessels, thereby reducing swelling and congestion. This mechanism facilitates improved nasal airflow and eases breathing. Kapinose Nasal Drops are intended for short-term use, typically not exceeding 3 to 5 consecutive days, to prevent rebound congestion (rhinitis medicamentosa). The product is administered intranasally, with the recommended dosage being 1 to 2 drops in each nostril every 8 to 10 hours as needed. Caution is advised in patients with hypertension, cardiovascular disorders, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, or prostatic hypertrophy, and it should be used under medical supervision in these populations. Kapinose is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to xylometazoline or any excipients. Common adverse effects may include nasal dryness, irritation, or sneezing. If symptoms persist beyond one week or worsen, medical consultation is recommended. Kapinose Nasal Drops should be stored at room temperature, protected from light and out of reach of children.
