Jupitinib 400 Tablet contains Imatinib mesylate 400 mg, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor indicated for the treatment of various malignancies including chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), and other specific cancers characterized by aberrant tyrosine kinase activity. Imatinib mesylate exerts its therapeutic effect by selectively inhibiting the BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase, a constitutively active enzyme resulting from the Philadelphia chromosome translocation in CML, thereby preventing phosphorylation and subsequent proliferation of malignant cells.

Additionally, it inhibits other tyrosine kinases such as c-KIT and PDGFR, which are implicated in the pathogenesis of GIST and other tumors. Jupitinib 400 is administered orally and is absorbed systemically, achieving peak plasma concentrations within 2 to 4 hours post-dose. It undergoes hepatic metabolism primarily via CYP3A4 enzymes and has a half-life conducive to once-daily dosing.
Common adverse effects include edema, nausea, muscle cramps, rash, and fatigue, while serious adverse reactions may involve myelosuppression, hepatotoxicity, and cardiotoxicity, necessitating regular monitoring of blood counts and liver function tests during therapy.
