Jospan-D Capsule SR is a combination medication containing Domperidone 10mg and Pantoprazole 20mg, formulated for sustained release to provide prolonged therapeutic effects. Domperidone is a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist that enhances gastrointestinal motility by accelerating gastric emptying and improving esophageal sphincter tone, thereby alleviating symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, bloating, and discomfort associated with delayed gastric emptying. Pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells, effectively reducing gastric acidity and promoting mucosal healing in acid-related disorders. The combination of these agents is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), functional dyspepsia, and other acid-peptic disorders where impaired gastric motility and excessive acid secretion coexist. Jospan-D Capsule SR is typically administered orally, once daily before meals, to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
