The pharmacokinetic profile of Lacosamide demonstrates rapid absorption with peak plasma concentrations occurring within 1 to 4 hours post-dose, and it exhibits linear kinetics with a half-life of approximately 13 hours, allowing for twice-daily dosing.
It is primarily eliminated via renal excretion, necessitating dose adjustments in patients with significant renal impairment. Common adverse effects include dizziness, headache, nausea, and diplopia, while serious adverse reactions such as cardiac conduction abnormalities require monitoring, especially in patients with preexisting cardiac conditions.
