Domperidone is a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist that enhances gastrointestinal motility by increasing the tone of the lower esophageal sphincter and accelerating gastric emptying without affecting gastric secretions.

The disintegrating tablet formulation allows for rapid dissolution in the oral cavity, facilitating ease of administration, especially in patients with difficulty swallowing conventional tablets. Jaydom 10 DT is commonly prescribed to manage symptoms of gastroparesis, functional dyspepsia, and to prevent nausea and vomiting related to chemotherapy or postoperative conditions. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Domperidone or any tablet excipients, as well as in individuals with prolactin-releasing pituitary tumors or cardiac arrhythmias.
Caution is advised in patients with hepatic impairment or those taking medications that prolong the QT interval due to potential cardiac risks. The recommended dosage should be adhered to strictly, and prolonged use beyond four weeks is generally discouraged without medical supervision. Jaydom 10 DT Tablet offers a clinically effective option for symptomatic relief of gastrointestinal motility disorders and associated nausea.
