Active composition
Sildenafil selectively inhibits PDE5, leading to increased levels of cyclic GMP (cGMP) and enhanced vasodilation in the corpus cavernosum.
Medical applications
Jaspush Tablet contains Sildenafil 100mg, a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult males. Sildenafil acts by selectively inhibiting PDE5, an enzyme responsible for the degradation of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in the corpus cavernosum. Increased levels of cGMP lead to smooth muscle relaxation and enhanced blood flow to the penile tissue, facilitating the achievement and maintenance of an erection in response to sexual stimulation. Jaspush Tablet should be administered orally approximately 30 to 60 minutes before anticipated sexual activity, with effects lasting up to 4 to 6 hours. It is important to note that sexual stimulation is required for the drug to be effective. The medication is contraindicated in patients taking nitrates or nitric oxide donors due to the risk of severe hypotension. Common adverse effects may include headache, flushing, dyspepsia, nasal congestion, dizziness, and visual disturbances. Caution is advised in patients with cardiovascular disease, hepatic or renal impairment. Jaspush Tablet should be used under medical supervision, with dosage adjustments based on efficacy and tolerability. It is not intended for use in women or pediatric patients. Patients should be advised to seek immediate medical attention if they experience prolonged erection lasting more than 4 hours (priapism) or sudden vision loss.
