Januric SR 250 is indicated for the management of chronic gout, hyperuricemia associated with malignancy, and to prevent uric acid nephropathy during cancer chemotherapy. The sustained-release formulation ensures a gradual release of the active ingredient, providing prolonged therapeutic effects and improved patient compliance through once-daily dosing. It is essential to initiate therapy under medical supervision, with regular monitoring of serum uric acid levels and renal function.
Common side effects may include rash, gastrointestinal disturbances, and hypersensitivity reactions; severe hypersensitivity syndrome, although rare, requires immediate discontinuation. Dose adjustments may be necessary in patients with renal impairment. Januric SR 250 should be used cautiously in patients with hepatic or renal dysfunction and is contraindicated in those with known hypersensitivity to Allopurinol.
