Izra-D40 Capsule SR is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Domperidone 30mg and Esomeprazole 40mg, designed for the management of gastroesophageal conditions. Domperidone, a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, facilitates gastric motility and accelerates gastric emptying, thereby alleviating symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and bloating associated with delayed gastric emptying and gastroparesis. Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in gastric parietal cells, effectively reducing acid-related mucosal damage and promoting ulcer healing. The sustained-release (SR) formulation ensures prolonged therapeutic plasma concentrations, enhancing symptom control and patient compliance. Izra-D40 Capsule SR is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, peptic ulcer disease, and functional dyspepsia where acid suppression combined with prokinetic action is required. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to its components, prolactinoma, or gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Caution is advised in patients with hepatic impairment or cardiac arrhythmias.
