Eberconazole exhibits potent fungistatic and fungicidal activity by inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, thereby disrupting membrane integrity and leading to fungal cell death. Izeb 1% Cream is effective against a wide range of dermatophytes, yeasts, and molds. It is typically applied once or twice daily to the affected area after cleansing and drying the skin, with the duration of therapy depending on the severity and type of infection, usually ranging from 2 to 4 weeks. The formulation is well tolerated with minimal systemic absorption, reducing the risk of systemic side effects. Common adverse reactions may include mild local irritation, burning sensation, or erythema at the site of application, which are generally transient.
