Terbinafine (1% w/w) + Itraconazole (1% w/w)
Active composition

Terbinafine inhibits squalene epoxidase, disrupting ergosterol synthesis in fungal cell membranes.
Itraconazole inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, disrupting fungal cell membrane integrity.
Medical applications
Itrostred-TF Cream is a topical antifungal formulation containing Itraconazole 1% w/w and Terbinafine 1% w/w, designed for the treatment of various superficial fungal infections. Itraconazole, a triazole antifungal agent, inhibits fungal cytochrome P450-dependent enzyme lanosterol 14-α-demethylase, disrupting ergosterol synthesis and compromising fungal cell membrane integrity. Terbinafine, an allylamine antifungal, acts by inhibiting squalene epoxidase, leading to accumulation of squalene and fungal cell death. The combination of these two agents provides a broad spectrum of antifungal activity against dermatophytes, yeasts, and molds, enhancing therapeutic efficacy and reducing the risk of resistance development. Itrostred-TF Cream is indicated for the topical management of dermatophytosis, candidiasis, and other superficial mycoses affecting skin areas such as the feet, groin, and body. The cream should be applied once or twice daily to the affected area after cleansing and drying, continuing treatment for the full prescribed duration to prevent relapse. Adverse effects are generally mild and may include local irritation, burning sensation, or erythema. Caution is advised in patients with known hypersensitivity to either component. Itrostred-TF Cream is contraindicated in mucosal applications and should be used under medical supervision.
