This disruption leads to increased membrane permeability and ultimately fungal cell death. IT Mac 400mg Tablet SR is indicated for the treatment of infections such as aspergillosis, blastomycosis, histoplasmosis, onychomycosis, and other dermatophytic infections. It is also employed in the management of oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis, as well as prophylaxis in immunocompromised patients at risk of fungal infections.
The sustained-release formulation allows for once-daily dosing, improving adherence in long-term therapy. Caution is advised in patients with hepatic impairment, congestive heart failure, or those receiving concomitant medications metabolized by CYP3A4 due to potential drug interactions. Regular monitoring of liver function tests is recommended during therapy.
