Domperidone, a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, facilitates gastric motility and accelerates gastric emptying, thereby alleviating symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and bloating associated with delayed gastric emptying and gastroparesis. Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells, providing effective relief from acid-related conditions including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and peptic ulcers. The sustained-release formulation ensures prolonged therapeutic plasma concentrations, enhancing efficacy and patient compliance by reducing dosing frequency. Iondom Capsule SR is indicated for patients requiring combined prokinetic and acid-suppressive therapy, particularly in cases where symptoms of acid reflux coexist with delayed gastric emptying.
