Intacept 50mg Injection contains Etanercept, a recombinant human tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor fusion protein used primarily in the management of autoimmune diseases. By selectively binding to TNF-alpha, a pro-inflammatory cytokine implicated in the pathogenesis of various inflammatory conditions, Etanercept inhibits its interaction with cell surface TNF receptors, thereby reducing inflammation and immune system overactivity.

Indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and plaque psoriasis, Intacept 50mg Injection is administered subcutaneously, typically once or twice weekly depending on the specific condition and patient response. The dosage regimen should be individualized based on clinical efficacy and tolerability.
Prior to initiation, patients should be evaluated for latent tuberculosis and other infections, as Etanercept may increase susceptibility to serious infections, including opportunistic pathogens. Common adverse effects include injection site reactions, upper respiratory infections, headache, and nausea. Caution is advised in patients with a history of demyelinating disorders, congestive heart failure, or malignancies.
