Impusid Cream contains Fusidic Acid 2% w/w, a topical antibiotic effective against a broad spectrum of gram-positive bacteria, particularly Staphylococcus aureus. It is indicated for the treatment of superficial skin infections such as impetigo, infected eczema, folliculitis, and minor wounds or abrasions that have become secondarily infected. Fusidic Acid acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby preventing bacterial growth and proliferation.

Impusid Cream is applied directly to the affected area, usually two to three times daily, and should be used for the full prescribed duration to prevent the development of resistance. It is generally well-tolerated, with adverse effects being rare but may include local irritation, itching, or erythema at the site of application. Caution is advised in patients with known hypersensitivity to Fusidic Acid or any component of the formulation.
The cream is for external use only and should not be applied to large areas of damaged skin or used in conjunction with systemic antibiotics unless directed by a healthcare professional. Impusid Cream is contraindicated in viral or fungal skin infections unless there is a secondary bacterial infection.
