Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme in the gastric parietal cells, providing effective relief from acid-related conditions including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and peptic ulcers. The sustained-release (SR) formulation ensures prolonged therapeutic plasma concentrations, improving patient compliance and symptom control.
Impraz L Capsule SR is indicated for the treatment of functional dyspepsia, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and other acid-peptic disorders where both acid suppression and enhanced gastric motility are desired.
