Imograf Ointment contains Tacrolimus 0.03% w/w, a topical immunomodulator indicated for the treatment of atopic dermatitis in patients with moderate to severe disease who are unresponsive to conventional therapies. Tacrolimus acts by inhibiting calcineurin, thereby suppressing T-lymphocyte activation and the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which play a key role in the pathogenesis of inflammatory skin conditions. Imograf Ointment is applied thinly to affected areas twice daily and is intended for short-term or intermittent long-term use to control flare-ups. It is particularly useful in sensitive skin areas such as the face, neck, and flexural regions where corticosteroid use may be limited due to potential adverse effects. The ointment is not recommended for use in children under two years of age or in patients with known hypersensitivity to tacrolimus or any of the excipients. Common adverse reactions include transient burning or itching at the application site, which typically resolve with continued use. Patients are advised to avoid exposure to sunlight and ultraviolet light during treatment.
