Pidotimod is a synthetic dipeptide that modulates both innate and adaptive immunity by promoting the activation and proliferation of T-lymphocytes, increasing the production of cytokines, and enhancing phagocytic activity of macrophages. This mechanism helps in reducing the frequency and severity of recurrent respiratory tract infections, especially in patients with compromised or weakened immune systems. Immulina 800 is indicated as an adjunctive therapy in the management of chronic respiratory diseases such as bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and recurrent upper respiratory tract infections.
