This disruption leads to increased membrane permeability and ultimately fungal cell death. Imifung 200 is commonly prescribed for oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis, systemic candidiasis, cryptococcal meningitis, and other susceptible fungal infections. It is effective against Candida species, Cryptococcus neoformans, and certain dermatophytes. The tablet is administered orally, with dosing tailored according to the severity and type of infection, renal function, and patient response.
Fluconazole is generally well tolerated, with common adverse effects including headache, nausea, abdominal pain, and rash. Caution is advised in patients with hepatic impairment or those receiving concomitant medications metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes due to potential drug interactions.
