Ursodeoxycholic Acid acts by reducing the cholesterol content of bile and bile stones, promoting bile flow, and protecting hepatocytes against cytotoxicity induced by hydrophobic bile acids. Icterliv 300 is indicated for the management of primary biliary cholangitis, intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, and certain types of gallstone dissolution.

Additionally, it may be employed in the treatment of chronic liver diseases characterized by impaired bile secretion. The drug facilitates the improvement of liver function tests and alleviates symptoms such as pruritus and fatigue associated with cholestasis.
