Hyocimax MF Tablet contains a combination of Hyoscine butylbromide (10 mg) and Mefenamic Acid (250 mg), formulated for the effective management of pain associated with smooth muscle spasms and inflammatory conditions. Hyoscine butylbromide is an antispasmodic agent that acts by selectively blocking muscarinic receptors in the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal, biliary, and genitourinary tracts, thereby relieving spasmodic pain and discomfort. Mefenamic Acid is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that exerts analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain and inflammation. The combination of these two active ingredients provides synergistic relief in conditions such as dysmenorrhea, abdominal cramps, renal colic, and other spasmodic pain syndromes. Hyocimax MF is indicated for short-term use to alleviate moderate pain where both antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory actions are required. Caution is advised in patients with hypersensitivity to NSAIDs, gastrointestinal ulcers, or cardiac, hepatic, or renal impairment.
