Xylometazoline acts as a selective alpha-adrenergic receptor agonist, causing vasoconstriction of the nasal mucosal blood vessels, thereby reducing swelling and nasal obstruction. This mechanism facilitates easier breathing through the nasal passages. Hynoz-P Nasal Drops provide rapid onset of action, typically within minutes, and their effects may last up to 10-12 hours. The product is intended for short-term use, generally not exceeding 3 to 5 consecutive days, to avoid rebound congestion (rhinitis medicamentosa). It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to xylometazoline or any other components of the formulation. Caution is advised in individuals with hypertension, cardiovascular disorders, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, or prostatic hypertrophy. Overuse or prolonged use may lead to mucosal irritation or damage.
