Hynasal XL Nasal Drops contain Xylometazoline 0.1% w/v, a topical nasal decongestant indicated for the relief of nasal congestion associated with conditions such as allergic rhinitis, common cold, sinusitis, and hay fever. Xylometazoline acts as a selective alpha-adrenergic receptor agonist, producing vasoconstriction of the nasal mucosal blood vessels, thereby reducing mucosal edema and facilitating improved nasal airflow.

This pharmacological action provides rapid and effective symptomatic relief from nasal obstruction. Hynasal XL Nasal Drops are intended for intranasal administration, with dosing typically recommended as one or two drops in each nostril two to three times daily, not exceeding the prescribed duration, generally limited to 5-7 days to prevent rebound congestion (rhinitis medicamentosa).
Caution is advised in patients with hypertension, cardiovascular disorders, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, or prostatic hypertrophy. The product should be used under medical supervision, especially in pediatric and elderly populations. Adverse effects may include transient nasal irritation, dryness, sneezing, or rarely systemic effects such as increased blood pressure or palpitations.
