Histapex-MD Tablet contains Betahistine 16 mg, a histamine analogue used primarily in the management of Ménière’s disease and other vestibular disorders characterized by vertigo, tinnitus, and hearing loss. Betahistine acts as a vasodilator in the inner ear, improving microcirculation and reducing endolymphatic pressure, thereby alleviating symptoms associated with abnormal vestibular function.

It exerts its therapeutic effect by acting as a partial agonist at histamine H1 receptors and as an antagonist at H3 receptors, which modulates histaminergic neurotransmission and enhances vestibular compensation. Histapex-MD is indicated for the treatment of vertigo and balance disorders resulting from vestibular dysfunction. The recommended dosage is typically 16 mg administered two to three times daily, adjusted according to clinical response and tolerability.
Betahistine is generally well tolerated; however, mild adverse effects such as gastrointestinal discomfort, headache, and allergic reactions may occur. It should be used with caution in patients with a history of peptic ulcers or bronchial asthma. Histapex-MD is contraindicated in patients with pheochromocytoma. Clinical monitoring is advised to assess therapeutic efficacy and detect any potential side effects.

How to use Histapex Tablet MD Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not handle the tablets with wet hands. Put it in your mouth but do not swallow it. Histapex-MD Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
