Hipru 25 Tablet contains Hydroxyzine 25 mg, an antihistamine with anxiolytic, sedative, and antiemetic properties. It is primarily indicated for the management of anxiety and tension associated with psychoneurosis and as an adjunct in organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. Hydroxyzine acts by blocking H1 histamine receptors, thereby reducing the effects of histamine in the body, which helps alleviate allergic symptoms such as pruritus and urticaria. Additionally, it exerts a central nervous system depressant effect, making it effective in the treatment of insomnia and preoperative sedation. Hipru 25 is also utilized in controlling nausea and vomiting due to its antiemetic action. The usual adult dosage varies depending on the indication but typically ranges from 25 mg to 100 mg daily, divided into multiple doses. Caution is advised in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to hydroxyzine or other antihistamines, and it should be used with care in individuals with impaired liver or kidney function.
